🇵🇦 A series of online sessions is being organised by the EU Global Facility on “Asset Recovery: Presentation of different models of Asset Recovery Offices in the European Union”.
Following the recent onsite activity on AML and tax crime organised in October in Panama, the Panama General Prosecutor Office expressed the country’s interest in learning about EU models and best practices on assets recovery.
As a result, the EU GF organised a number of e-sessions with representatives from the Assets Recovery Offices (AROs) from France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Ireland.
Sessions, which began on 20 October, are scheduled to take place throughout the two coming weeks, targeted at around 15 senior prosecutors from Panama.
Ultimately, these activities will inform the new law on assets recovery currently being discussed at Panama’s Parliament.
