The EU Global Facility on AML/CFT kicked off a scoping mission to the Democratic Republic of Congo yesterday.
From 11 to 14 April 2022, the delegation -led by our Key Expert on Judiciary/CSOs Mamuka Jgenti – will be in Kinshasa for a series of meetings with Congolese stakeholders.
Among others, they will meet with representatives from different ministries (finance, justice, interior), the CENAREF (financial intelligence unit, focal point for the EU GFT), the Central Bank of Congo, the Public prosecutor office and the anti-#corruption agency, among others.
This scoping mission to the DRC aims to evaluate the current state of play and the potential technical assistance that could be delivered by the EU Global Facility to Congolese counterparts. The Global Facility will complete this scoping mission together with the AML-THB Project in the Greater Horn of #Africa, in order to join forces and offer the most comprehensive technical assistance possible.
