Today we open a three-day regional event in Indonesia 🇮🇩 in collaboration with the Global NPO Coalition on FATF. \nTaking place from July 25th to 27th\, this Regional Consultation brings together together 50 NPO representatives from the APG and Central Asia countries\, including Bangladesh\, Cambodia\, Hong Kong\, India\, Indonesia\, Kazakhstan\, Kyrgyzstan\, Malaysia\, Mongolia\, Nepal\, Pakistan\, Philippines\, Sri Lanka\, and Thailand as well as from Croatia\, Georgia\, the Netherlands\, the Republic of Moldova\, Russia and the UK. Representatives of the APG Secretariat as well as the authorities of the host country – Indonesia – will also be in attendance. \nWe are also happy to announce that the Chairperson of MONEYVAL and representatives from the EU Delegation to Jakarta will also address the audience. \nThe primary objective of this meeting is to discuss the upcoming revision of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Recommendation 8 Best Practices Paper (BPP) by the FATF. The Rec 8 BPP revision is a crucial step towards aligning international standards with the evolving needs and realities of NPOs. It also provides an opportunity to address any existing challenges and improve the effectiveness of measures designed to combat money laundering and terrorist financing while safeguarding the legitimate activities of NPOs. \nIn this sense\, the EU Global Facility and its partners are working to foster an inclusive and collaborative environment\, where we aim to gather valuable insights and contributions from NPOs of the region\, ensuring that their perspectives and expertise are incorporated into the final proposal to be submitted to the FATF \nIndeed\, following the four previous consultations held for the regions of Latin America/the Caribbean\, Africa\, Europe and MENA\, this collaborative effort will culminate in a final global event scheduled to take place in Bonn in September. There\, the consolidated global position will be discussed and finalised. \nKey Objectives: \n\n🔹 Facilitate dialogue and exchange of experiences among NPOs in the APG region\n🔹 Gather input and feedback to inform the Rec 8 BPP revision process\n🔹 Strengthen the common global position of NPOs\n🔹 Enhance collaboration between NPOs\, regulators\, and policymakers\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
